It's probably true, but I'll hold off for now.

Man I still get chills listening to he and Jaimoe on Mountain Jam among others. I have seen the brothers play about 10 times. Never saw them in their Duane era as I am too young but I have always realized just how vital Butch and Jaimoe were to that incredibly unique sound that constitutes the ABB. If true all I can do is thank him for the memories and the music that will never die. What a legacy!

So sorry to hear this. The man was a powerhouse drummer. I was so hoping his new band, Les Bres, would make it out west for a show. It seemed like a really cool project. R.I.P.

Very sad for all of us who have experienced the magic of "The Allman Brothers Band". RIP Butch

My deepest thanks to my brother, who turned me onto this band back when I was in my early teens. That needle dropped down on Side 3 of "Eat A Peach" and that was all I needed to hear, to know that this band was special!

Willie and Kim confirmed it last night quietly to friends, that's why I believed it and started this thread. Had hoped it was a hoax, but knew deep down inside it wasn't.
