    I feel the same, Myke.

The effects the ABB (and related projects) have had on me is indescribable. And it's all been positive. They're the one band I've always felt like I've known....sort of like musical kinship, if you will. They're never far from my stereo and phone. For their music to have connected with me at such a level as a 4 year old, it's special. Thanks to my Dad, for turning me into The Brothers. Life wouldn't have been the same.

Yeah, I'd doubt it was. He'd been ill for the last year or two, I just assumed it was related to that.

    RIP Butch.

Butch Trucks provided my son & I with the greatest of personal memories at the Beacon Theatre in 2013 (2012 & 2014) - but especially that year, & on one very special night.

Butch said they were on fire, & playing their best since Duane passed.

Skydog, Berry, Red Dog, & Butch unite. May all RIP

On my short list of performers I really wanted to see but didn't get the chance to.

He'd been ill? I hadn't heard that before?

However lots of really ill people take their own lives so it could be both.

I'm sure we'll know the cause soon enough.

Either way the man played on some of all time favorite albums.

Saw the Allman Brothers in '92. What a show. What a great band. What a great drummer. At Fillmore East playing right now. Memories that I will never forget.
    Prayers for the Trucks family.

Listening to Live at the Fillmore, one of the greatest albums EVER, and feeling a little ancient.

From Gregg: "I'm heartbroken. I've lost another brother and it hurts beyond words. Butch and I knew each other since we were teenagers and we were bandmates for over 45 years. He was a great man and a great drummer and I'm going to miss him forever. Rest In Peace Brother Butch."
