I'm getting tired of Netflix DVD plan. What is happening is that my list of saved movies, that are either unavailable or not released, continues to grow. Most of the films in that category are foreign or independent.

Has anyone here used such sites as Fandor or Mubi? The following article discusses them.

5 Streaming Sites for People Who Want More Than Netflix

Neither are perfect for what I want, but they might be a step in the right direction. No, I am not interested in so-called "free" sites. You get what you pay for.

I use VUDU for renting or buying movies. For just a streaming service, I like Hulu about the best and I have the plan that has the tv streaming. After all is said and done, it's still cheaper than buying basic cable.

I briefly looked at Google Play Movies . . . it doesn't seem to differ from Amazon, in that for some movies, you can just pay 3.99 or more for one-time streaming. I am looking for a subscription of sorts -- at 4.00 or more per movie, it can become cost prohibitive.

I use TUBI-TV quite a bit. Most of the movies they offer are "back catalog" items that are at least a decade old, though, so if you're looking for the newest releases that might not work for you.

    Notes:
    1) Ignore the word "REMOVE" -- I cleaned up the list but REMOVE is just a leftover of cutting and pasting.
    2) Some of these movies are recent releases and may transition to being available -- but most will never make the leap.
    3) The reason many of these is "unavailable" is because Netflix is too cheap to purchase the DVDs -- all they have to do is order them from Amazon -- duh.....
