The SH Forums, founded in January of 2002. Very recently we had our 100,000th member sign up!

And we also had our 25,000,000th post!

    We've come a long way, baby! :)

What are your fondest memories of Steve Hoffman forums? What was the most amazing discovery that you found because you visited here? What's the most fun you've had on the forum?

    This is mine! https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/craigs-avatar-retrospective.44855/

Those are cool milestones, I just wish 75% of the threads weren't about Tito Jackson.

We'll try to do better with the next 25,000,000 won't we?

    25,000,000 posts?

Impressive. I wonder what the topic breakdown is? 24,500,000 Beatles, 2 Al Jolson, 1 Ernest Tubb (started by me)?

    Congrats to all!

Ya know, I've been thinking...you should really consider moving all the Ernest Tubb posts off into their own area...

It think the anticipation for 09/09/09 is one of my biggest memories and the fact that the board had an outage on the day. :D

    Congrats!

In recent times, I especially enjoyed the complete series of Joni Mitchell song by song, album by album threads. Those were full of detailed information, insightful opinions, fun upbeat civil discourse and loving tributes.

As ever, the topics dedicated to the Jimi Hendrix music are full of passionate fans. I'm always game for those discussions.

Also memorable to probably more than a few members was the wild, non stop discussions regarding the long, long, long awaited Beatles CD remasters.

this forum has been bad for my wallet but the music education is priceless. Thank you to everyone involved in the forum, the folks that run this place, and a special thanks to Steve Hoffman.

    Number 9, number 9, number 9 ...

Eh, so 10/10/10 was OK, as was 11/11/11 and 12/12/12.

Couldn't post a thing on 13/13/13, however. Tried all day...

Just a few of the many things I've learned about at SHF since 2005:

    Matrix codes
    Bobby Hutcherson
    VPI turntables
    OBI strips
    DR levels

The list goes on and on........

Definitely my most visited site while working on the computer at work.
This site saves me money and yet makes me spend it on almost all things music/audio. Great to meet and communicate with lovers of music and the various genres, formats, etc.

for me, a highlight was the massive KISS song by song thread helmed by @GodShifter that reintroduced me to a band I hadn't listened to since 1979... and reminded me how much fun music was as a kid, not a deadly serious obsession about collecting particular pressings etc...

This forum helped me take a deeper dive into both the Monkees and Michael Nesmith. Thanks!

Really enjoy all of the discussions, the song by song threads, and especially the advice I got on which cartridge to buy for my table. Great site, I tell everyone about it. Only serious place to talk music online.

But remember, it was an outgrowth of a board (I believe Steve was running earlier) at DCC, or Audio Fidelity. Crowdsourcing both the passions and knowledge base of music fans has been a constant for him, which was also a way to gain relations with large labels that could be turned into superior remastering opportunities. One of the reasons the mods control on civility of our members has been so important to success here.

Still don't get the naugas though...
