I notice on amazon as soon as 1 person purchases an item, the price will often sky rocket instantly.
I also notice that clicking on links on here.
Do folks generally post the price they purcashed at or the instantanous price following purchase?

Yeah the prices often skyrocket when someone buys but sometimes they reduce further....

The links here are generally placed when the item is the price quoted and if someone buys straight away then when you click on it the new price will be active.

 

I only post stuff that I don't buy. It's just cruel posting things that you've bought and the price has already bounced.

I often find that stuff that I buy at a good price comes around again anyway at that same price. There's some stuff where the price changes every day.

I agree, where I get burnt is watching items that have only one in stock, if someone buys it, the item is often not restocked,( especially for more obscure CDs/records) and if it is, at a much higher price.

As Big Swifty has noted, if there is remaining stock of the item after it has sold, it will shoot up in price and generally drift back to a lower price over a few weeks.
