I haven't had this problem fortunately, but I have heard of it happening on Amazon USA. It's sad to hear that it's now happening here as well. They used to specify if a CD was 'on demand' (ie, a Cdr), but I'm not sure if they still do.
Thanks! I noticed a couple of listings on the au site that mentioned cdr nomenclature (not on demand), for instance a Gregg Allman album from the 90s. But now that you mention it, it's probably not a bad idea to cross-reference against the us site when in doubt. Probably not a bad idea to check all discs when you receive them though!
Yes! I have received about 10 CDRs from Amazon AU, none of which were advertised as such. There were all on Cherry Red, Cherry Pop & Funktowngrooves labels. Amazon are a victim of these labels who choose to repress OOP CDs as CDRs without any modification to the packaging or barcode. In all cases I obtained a refund, although it affected my “rating” as a customer & I received a warning from Amazon about returning too many items.

Ah, thanks for sharing. That's terrible. I had a stern if not directly rude warning on customer service chat that went along similar lines

It’s funny what you find, and don’t find, when you hunt for records. Like you , I have always found Byrds records hard to come by, likewise The Kinks. While Neil Young vinyl would always turn up for me, I have six Harvests, five After the Goldrush etc. Always found heaps of Beach Boys stuff in the 1980/90’s for some strange reason
Various Top Gun OST (LP) $17.18 https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B014JRCA7K/ Just in case you haven't heard 'Danger Zone' enough times
For those of us in the UK at the time "Take My Breath Away" might be even more painful! Seemed to be No1 forever!!
I've now got both of those songs stuck in my head - thanks guys... I guess if you can instantly recall a song from seeing the song title, it at least succeeds as a catchy/memorable song!
A memorable classic, as much as I wish I could forget it! But the song was worth the pain just to see Geldof's exasperated reaction on Countdown
