If you haven't already, you must read @Eskimo Chain's story. It's a corker. Thanks for sharing EC. Enjoyed that immensely. Genesis Plays Jackson: My discovery of a lost Genesis recording or my dance with Peter Gabriel
But you haven't done the Hoffman Forum thing correctly. When you joined, you should have chosen a name like 'Tapefinder' or 'hardcoregenesis', inserted yourself forcefully in ALL Genesis threads and claim that you, and you alone, know the workings of PG's inner circle.
Fremer's AnalogPlanet reviews Mel Brown's 'Chicken Fat'. It's good, apparently. Verve By Request Cooks Up Tasty 180g 1LP Reissue of Mel Brown’s 1967 Impulse Records Debut Album Chicken Fat, Pressed by Third Man Records Mel Brown Chicken Fat (LP) $49 https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0BH7J31B6/ Amazon US I've ordered. Great story and we'll written too. Thanks for sharing. I remember reading an article by a guy who interviewed former record company vault staff members, who literally were ordered to dump thousands of unreleased session tapes into the rubbusb bin to save storage space, and who's co-workers were waiting at the bins and were retrieving said tapes into their cars. Now that's a head scratcher as to who owns the physical tape. You clearly can't release the music, but the tapes were thrown out, so ownership surely has transferred to the finder. I've also read that sometimes record companies have to borrow tapes from private collectors for reissue projects.
I just found out the Tom Verlaine died last week (news travels slowly in the bush!), can still remember the first time I heard Marquee Moon and thinking - what a mesmerizing song!

I'm not sure if it's ever been shown on Australian telly, but I watched an excellent BBC documentary about this British soul band from Liverpool, England. Worth seeking out! "In 2019, the band were featured in a documentary called Everything - The Real Thing Story,[19][20][21] which charted the history of the band from Eddie's days in Merseybeat doo-wop act the Chants[22] (said to be the only group ever to be backed by the Beatles),[23][24][25] through Chris' group's SSB (the Sophisticated Soul Brothers) and Vocal Perfection.[26] The latter act went on to be renamed The Real Thing by manager Tony Hall, after seeing the Coca-Cola advert on a large billboard in Piccadilly Circus. The documentary featured interviews with David Essex, Billy Ocean, Five Star's Denise Pearson, Kim Wilde and Leee John from Imagination; as well as all surviving members of the Chants and the Real Thing. As Eddie Amoo died during the production of the film, the documentary ended up being released two years after his death. Sheridan's lengthy interview with Amoo was shown in full on BBC Four in August 2020."

Yes it is. Shame about the moon shaped sticker on the cover. I pulled it off and there was an round circle of glue left behind. So it was either risk lighter fuel to remove it, or put the sticker back again. I stuck it back!
