Had to take someone to task who claimed on Facebook that not a single decent musician came out of the British punk era.
He claimed only the New York acts had any musical credibility, citing Blondie as one of those acts.
I politely informed him that Glen Matlock is now the bassist in Blondie!
Could’ve also mentioned that Matlock was the first choice to replace Ronnie Lane in the Faces reunion, which unfortunately didn’t ultimately include Rockin’ Rod!

 

??? What about Topper as a drummer?

 

Yep, that one was gonna be next, likely followed by the supposed story that had David Gilmour rocking up in person to Colin Moulding’s joint to ask him to replace Roger Waters!

Wow I never knew this reissue even existed. Those Glyn John's albums she did at the start of her career are amazing. In fact I have an original pressing of this (always easy to find at record fairs) that actually sounds awesome. I'd love to know how the remastered version sounds as I can't imagine it would be that better than the one I have. I'll keep a watch out for this!

I've got a few of these super cheap out of stock albums waiting for shipment now. One more for the pile.

 

I have so many titles waiting for shipment now! Seems to have been some change at Amazon Au in the way they list stuff, I will be happy if I get any of it but not holding my breath, if I really want something it's always best to order from stock that actually exists IMO

 

I have noticed the same trend, advertising products at very cheap prices but unable to supply stock. No problem if they keep their end of the bargain and stock arrives, but if it is not supplied, surely Amazon Aust. must be breaching the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 - false and misleading advertising or deceptive conduct.

Any lawyers out there?

 

The additional wrinkle here… you buy at a price. It’s marked Out of Stock. But the item becomes in stock at a slightly higher price. Same item. So you sit and wait. They’ll honour the order now. And nothing changes. So you cancel and buy at the higher price. Happens to me quite regularly…

A few years ago, Australia Amazon contacted me and said an item was unavailable and my order was cancelled. I contacted them, pointed out the item was available from overseas Amazon, (at a much higher price) and accused them of misleading customers by using the used car yard "bait and switch" scam - advertising a car at a very low price, the patsy turns up at the car yard to have a look at the advertised car (which never existed), is told it had just been sold, and is shown another , more expensive option.
