Do physical JB stores also have CD clearance racks for $2.99 or is this just online? I've purchased some cheap CDs at JB not long ago, but they were not in a large clearance rack, just sort of scattered everywhere.
Lots of amazing stuff in that sale I've already got. If I had nothing I would have easily bought 50 discs!!!
You might want to contact them as one has reappeared in the Amazon warehouse, but is currently $16. https://www.amazon.com.au/RETROSPECTIVE-ANIMALS/dp/B0002IQABI/ref=sr_1_17?m=A1GE4GWD4XC0D9&qid=1693972320&refinements=p_n_binding_browse-bin:5260922051&rnid=5260920051&s=warehouse-deals&sr=1-17

Nice one! Ill be interested to know if its the pressing (are CD's pressed?) that has the wrong version of the Glyn Johns mix of LIB - the first ones had the original 1969 mix of For You Blue and the subsequent ones were changed to be the same as the vinyl - the 1970 mix (theres a very suble difference)
Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin I (LP) $25 LED ZEPPELIN - Led Zeppelin I (180G/Remastered) | Amazon.com.au | Music Temp out of stock
The Rolling Stones Beggars Banquet (SACD) $42 The Rolling Stones - Beggars Banquet | Amazon.com.au | Music Hybrid SACD. Nice packaging but the second disc only contains mono version of Sympathy For The Devil.
Picked up half a dozen 'click and collect' on the way home last night including an Opeth set (2cd + dvd) priced at $48 on the package, for $2.99. Guy behind the counter couldn't believe the prices as he hadn't seen the sale. Got another half dozen more title coming via snail mail, including a few move cd/dvd sets. Funnily enough, on the way home i stopped at a pawn broker that sometimes has some good CDs and the had the "great Australian songbook" set displayed for $30. Used. Didn't have the heart to tell him it was currently $3 new on the JB site. He had some other good metal stuff but has now decided to use Ebay as a price guide so i left it all there.
Rolf Harris doing the cover for The Great Australian Songbook sort of damned it to hell. JB used to stick a price sticker over his signature.
That would explain the low price. I didn't give that a thought - just thought it had a good tracklisting and was a bargain.
Picked up the Opeth Set also for $2.99, had the same reaction at the counter. Thrilled to get it for that price.

Non-Amazon, but some more interesting secondhand record pricing, discovered when crate digging at a regional Victorian market. Exhibit A -The Angels double live record - tracks one and two on sides one and three are unplayable - 20% of the music - selling for the bargain price of $60! Also, not sure you can describe vinyl that is partially unplayable Near Mint
Prices of new vinyl (and secondhand) has absolutely gone mental. We already knew this, but now it's completely out of control. The record companies think we must be made of money or something. I've already significantly scaled down my purchases since the lack of bargains on Amazon AU, but I think this might be goodnight from me in terms of buying new records.
