Amazon - Australian geo-blocking backflip

    I just got an email from Amazon Australia recommending the Love from Planet Gong box set, to be paid for at Amazon.com.au and shipped and sold by Amazon UK!!!!

    Yes, it seems we can once again, after two years, purchase music (and movies and more) from Amazon UK.

    It seems that shipping for every item (single CD or box set) is A$14.95

    For a test I started to order 2 copies of the Gong box, and shipping increased to A$22.97

    It seems that Amazon Prime only gives free shipping for stuff bought from Amazon USA.

    My wallet feels lighter already.

    Most items from Amazon UK are now Prime free shipping over $49. You can also combine an item from UK and an item from US to achieve the $49 benchmark. We've been discussing the reemergence of Amazon UK on the deals forum here Amazon AU price watch thread...

    Weird times - I bought a New Microsoft Surface Dock 2 from Amazon Australia recently and it came from Amazon USA. The price was so cheap, I thought it was in $US. It wasn't - saved myself AUS$150
