How many people have been inadvertently charged by Amazon for subsequently cancelled orders..?? (Ordered some CDs/Vinyl then cancelled due to late delivery..only to then see a month or so later that I had been charged £80 or so ..Absolutely Fuming !!

I’ve never had that experience. I only use a gift card account. My biggest complaint is shoddy packing and damage upon delivery.

Amazon has and is getting too big for their breaches. So sorry Mark.

Amazon UK is now, in some instances, charging credit cards for "on order" (not pre-order) items at the time of purchase.

I ordered Bob Dylan's Complete Albums Collection from them when it was listed as being back in stock in one to three weeks and they charged me immediately. When I questioned this practice with their customer service department they said they now do this as a "convenience" so they don't have to constantly get reauthorization on the credit card while the item is on order. I waited about six weeks and then realized they would probably never get it back in stock. Instead of manually cancelling the order I went through customer service again and made sure to tell them to refund my payment at the same time - which they did.

Hi Don, I see your point ..and that is what I did..but because a lot of the music auto downloaded into my amazon music app they then charged around £8.99 for each digital download as opposed to it being free as part of the purchase of the physical media....Just thought I'd send a heads up to all out in Hoffman World..

Well now I see you don't have the 50 required posts to even see the right sub forum, so maybe they can't move this thread.

Yeah, what's up with them tossing books into a huge bubble-wrap mailer? Practically every time my orders arrive they are damaged i.e. torn, dented, etc.

Yes, this is true, even though I still use them for various things. I have also connected with a couple of sellers on EBay and use them at times.

So you got a part of something you ordered (but cancelled the rest), and then are surprised you were charged for it? How is that a ‘con’?

It’s pretty clear in the wording that AutoRip is chargeable if you cancel the order, otherwise anyone could just order something, download it and then cancel the order with no charge.

why not move it yourself? You’re a gort aren’t you?
