New info from AJ video interview posted below. He expects an early Nov announcement for the Mofi speaker launch. 3 speakers are going to be built now with one launching before the others. They should be available before the end of the year. Not sure if he means just the initial one or all 3. He was vague on pricing. He said "more than ELAC" but when pressed he said "1000's rather than 100's".
It's an hour and forty seven minute infomercial. Care to be more specific on what they should "learn".
That boy sure does get around; it's like every year, he moves to some other firm. What's the deal? Does he get bored? Does he tee off management? I'd sure like to know.
I think he said in the interview that he has worked for 6 different companies in 30 years. 5 years per company on average. That seems reasonable to me.
He is the kinda dude who should have started his own company sometime ago l know why I did (as painful as it was)..
Slight correction. He has worked in speaker design for over 40 years now for the following companies: KEF Infinity Pioneer/TAD ELAC MoFi
LOL Measurements mean way less IMO for transducers (speakers, headphones, phono cartridges) than for other components. Personal preferences play such a huge role there.
For me the Elacs don’t seem to have any obvious deficiencies. They sound great and absolutely nothing to complain about specially at the reasonable price. Don’t need more for that system.
Thanks for posting that video, I don't think I would have ever found it with its odd title. It was very informative with in depth info on his testing methods, views on actives and amp choices etc.
I don’t have the slightest idea why one would be concerned about a one year warranty for a speaker. But I am willing to listen…
Normal speakers come with 5-10 year warrantees, think the opposite of the warmth people feel with a Bryston Amps 20 year warranty. Truth be told I'm intrigued, but I can't imagine they would eclipse my Giya's. Looked hard at TAD speakers before picking a Dickey design.
