Rodney in Caddyshack puts it over the top.

  4. Animal House. The funniest moments of Caddyshack might be funnier, but AH is far more consistent.

As great as Rodney is, it is Ted Knight who totally slays me every time. My father is an avid golfer and he would drag me on weekends to caddy for him. I saw a lot of Ted Knights in my day.

  9. I have to ask, why make the distinction?

Gotta go with Caddyshack, a top 3 all-time comedy for me. Animal House is not far behind (top 10 comedy), but Caddyshack wins.

The following are so closely linked, so I nominate these in order of favorites. Hard to imagine they are 30 yrs old or more.....

    1-The Blues Brothers
    2-Caddyshack
    3-Animal House

    4-Christmas Vacation
    5-Vacation

Caddyshack. Rodney was killer in it as was Ted Knight.

    Chose Caddyshack by a nose.

Animal House is probably a little more consistent and certainly more influential but I find myself laughing at Caddyshack quiet a bit more.

"You ****ed up! You trusted us!" vs. "Just snake a tube down her nose and I'll be there in four or five hours," among dozens of other classic lines. Very tough choice, but for me it's Caddyshack by a Carl Spackler whisker. Rat Farts!!!

It goes without saying, but both are classics. If push comes to shove I guess I'll go with Animal House.

Just seemed like the ultimate clash of comedy titans...and the voting appears to bear this out. No harm was intended, I assure you.

Belushi is the only funny part of animal house. Caddyshack by a country mile.

Only can be one, has to be Caddyshack.

  23. No harm was assumed, or taken, in my question either. I just wanted to know your answer.
Wondering, for the sake of wonderment, can be a good thing.

Now, what about Sarah Holcomb?...the girl who acted in both movies.
