I just bought the Canadian first pressing of Sorcerer which is supposed to sound fantastic and is pressed at Columbia Pittman like the I.S. 1st press Columbia 2 eye. But I did not see a different lacquer cutter named on Discogs.

The Canadian TSMR has a Canadian lacquer cutter Emile. He was a master engineer/lacquer cutter with London for 16 years so he must be good.

The mellotron uses 8 second long tapes of recorded instruments. It's main characteristic is it's icy cold sound, that's quite spooky.

I think I am listening to Zappa’s early Mother’s when I hear the 8 minutes-
    Not bad at all -

Maybe the jam at the end of Side One but honestly Satanic Majesties is best viewed through its release period and not to what came before or after.

I am viewing it now listening to the SACD and imo it sounds contemporary to much of what what I hear nowadays-not dated to these older ears -
