I love Donna Summer but why do we need this? It sounds like a reworked version of the Anthology from 12 years ago. We also just had the Journey. Why not release 2-disc sets of her other #1 albums from the 1970's including Live & More or Once Upon A Time? I'd buy those in a minute.

With the exception of a couple of noteworthy tracks, this is just another attempt to cash in with the same stuff that's been packaged over and over again. At least this time they are including "Dinner with Gershwin" and the correct single version of "Love To Love You Baby", but I don't see anything else here to get too excited about.

Ps. Does anyone know how the promotional single of "MacArthur Park" differed from the lp, 45rpm single, or 12" single mixes/edits?

I think the promo single of "MacArthur Park" is just a different edit of the song. I don't remember ever hearing a different mix of this song back in '78. The commercial 45 edit clocked in at 3:54, promo 12" which edited down to 6:25 from the LP side long suite(which also included "Heaven Knows" and "One Of A Kind" and a reprise of "MacArthur Park") which was 17:33.

Cold Love, from The Wanderer, could have been added.

There's also a bunch of other 2-CD Golds coming out at the same time, Kiss, Neil Diamond and some others I can't remember. (Of course, the Neil Diamond comp is not to be confused with his 1970 Troubadour live album).

Song selection seems too similar to UK's 2004 version of 'The Journey'.
IMHO, the british disc is much better.
At least it has 'Theme from the Deep' and the 12" version of 'Love To Love You Baby' which make the double disc compilation worthy.

KISS's gold compilation is just a repackage of 2004's edition that included the 'Exposed' DVD.
    Nothing more, nothing less.
