Beautiful, super chill from upcoming artist Julie Byrne, from her new album "Not Even Happiness" (2017).

Sarah Davachi. All of her stuff is very good. I'm currently really digging her latest, "All My Circles Run", which, unlike her previous efforts, gets away from electronics, synths, etc., and uses organ, piano, cello, violin and soprano vocals. Each of the tracks focuses on one instrument. Really nice stuff.

Has anybody here checked out "Insecurity Ward" by Kettenkarussell from Weimar? Ambient and a very good album. Double vinyl in textured sleeve, apparently a very small run. Recommended!

David Sylvian is one of my go-to ambient musics.

Sylvian with Holger Czukay of Can, Plight and Premonition and Flux + Mutability.

Sylvian with Robert Fripp and Frank Perry, Approaching Silence.

And a favorite Robert Fripp soundscape, A Blessing of Tears.

Not one mention of Pete Namlook in this thread? Wow. He is one of the most prolific and respected ambient artists of the 90's and 00's. His solo works and collaborations are incredible. You just can't beat that lush & living analog sound of 90's ambient. Where to start?

    Pete Namlook - Air II
Pete Namlook & Lorenzo Montanà - Labyrinth series
Pete Namlook & Mixmaster Morris - Dreamfish 1+2

Scoring "Klaus Schulze - Contemporary Works" will also set you up with many, many hours of amazing analog ambient soundscapes to get lost in..

I'm probably the biggest Namlook fanboy on the forum. Fax alumni Chris Meloche posts here as well. I helped Pete out for a bit on Namlook X - Monolith. You should check out my thread here:

Kevin Drumm's new stuff is exceptional (love the early stuff as well, just quite different) - the newish Elapsed Time 6CD is really great. Probably more drone/minimal than ambient, but still well recommended.

I need to get more of his stuff, there's just an insane amount of it out there.

On topic: anyone mention Eluvium yet? "Talk Amongst the Trees" is one of my all time favorite ambient-ish albums. The one that preceded it ("An Accidental Memory in the Case of Death") is pretty great as well.

Another great ambient project with a great deal of output under their belt is the French duo "Natural Snow Buildings". Kind of blurs the line between Ambient and Drone (with some Bardo Pondo-esque pyche-y elements), but I don't think I've heard a release from them that I was not really impressed with.

I have bought several ambient CDs within the last year and by far the best is SeeFeel: QuiQue. It hardly comes out of the CD player, it goes for big bucks used at Amazon, if the Special Edition ever becomes available again please let us know? Funny thing my wife hates it, she hates Bjork too, so SeeFeel are in good company!

It blows my mind that SeeFeel never went on to better things, one of life's great mysteries I suppose?

Which one's the special edition? You can pick up the 2CD "Redux" version for $15 over on Discogs.

I believe the Special, Deluxe and Redux releases all refer to the same release from circa 2007 and $15 is a steal. I have never purchased from Discogs, I assume you have to set up an account.
