So far everthing that I've heard sounds compressed or eqed, probably remasters  AC/DC as well.

O Canada! .....might not have the latest reasters available.

Well, the Lps sounded OK. I've owned a Canadian LP of "Burnin' Sky" and it didn't sound good at all.

Cds: The latest versions (for both bands) available in the US are really the better pick, or if they're in Canada, they'll say "Digitally Remastered From The Original Master Tapes" on them, or say "Remastered By George Marino" (for both bands).

These didn't suck at all. "Straight Shooter" had lots of tape drop outs (I believe it's fixed) and the AC/DC catalogue never sounded wonderful in the early stages of CD (except maybe the 1st pressing of "Highway To Hell was ok).

    AC/DC:
I'd really say seek out the Austrailian CDs from EMI as some of the configurations of the Bon Scott stuff contain tracks not found in the US (Dirty Deeds, TNT, High Voltage) and the remastering there mirrors what was done here. The US Cds are great, but the Aussie ones are better for only the "original" configurations and the tracks not included on the US versions, not to mention the cover art for Dirty Deeds, totally different only in Aussie. Bon's cover of the Chuck Berry Classic "School Days" is very cool. (I think it's on the box set too)

None of the early Bad Co. CDs sounded good, with the exception of "Rough Diamonds". Keep away from 10 from 6, and go for the 2CD set with the die cut box; "The Original Bad Co Anthology".

Paul Rogers still can sing like he used to.

Yeah, the sound on the Anthology box is pretty good - perhaps a *tad* bright, but still pretty good. A ton of great songs. The 4 brand new songs really fit in with the old stuff nicely.
