Going to see the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next week.

Hope to do a bit of shopping, too! WAF permitting, of course.

    Any ideas?

there are a ton of record stores "around" cleveland, but other than the one in the rock hall, there are none close to downtown.

there is a chain called cd/game exchange that has outlets from the far west side to the far east side.

there are 3 cd warehouse stores spread across the city.

there is "my generation" on the west side and "record revolution" on the east side.

ther are a few stores in the akron/canton area, most notably "time traveler" in cuyahoga falls, who has the best selection in northeast ohio.

    where are you staying?

p.s. the science center, right next door tho the rock hall is also quite a trip!

Or Gary could come to Detroit and risk getting mugged to see that Hitsville USA museum. :D

Been to downtown Detriot once, Rudy. Just love it when they re-route I75 and someone steals a critical detour sign. But the only bad thing that we saw was a lone "bum" puking on the side walk. Good thing: no one pulled us over when we went thru red lights. Pretty empty.

RJP: We are staying at a hotel in Middleburg Heights. Near the airport. We're driving there, of course.

    gary,

the airport is on the west side of town. ( no north side only east, west, and downtown. akron is the south side).

the great northern mall is not far from there and there is a cd/game exchange across the street from the mall. 'my generation' is not far from the mall either, i know how to get there, but i don't know the street names at all :(

when you are at the rock hall you are not real far (10 miles) from coventry. there are 3 stores in coventry, and little italy is right down the road from coventry (great, great restaraunts)

p.s. ask at the rock hall, you find that people in cleveland are quite friendly.

i have been in downtown detroit twice.

it reminds of the film "escape from new york".

and right across the detroit river is windsor, ontario and it is very nice. amazingly stark contrast.

Must have been a slow night for the bums, then. ;) They usually try to pickpocket me, or take me home with them. :hurl:

Some of those detour routings are ridiculous. Some go 10-20 miles in a completely different direction and/or make no sense at all. I doubt anyone stole the sign--the boneheads probably put it on the wrong road, or didn't put it out at all. Typical Wayne County stupidity--we live it every day.
