yup. he will only play when he feels like it. he hasn't played at all this year, or at least since after may. told don he was physically tired
I can’t seem to find it in this thread.... and maybe it somehow got discussed in the Motley thread (maybe??) And I cant find it there either but I remember reading SOMEWHERE that there is two versions of Just Got Lucky?? Something about them swapping the original version for the remix when the single got big and putting that on later pressings on cassette and vinyl. I have Tooth And Nail on vinyl, cassette, The Very Best Of, First Pressing Of Tooth And Nail on CD and the Rock Candy version and all the versions of Just Got Lucky are the same, and exactly how i remember it as a kid. Now I am not sure if what I have been hearing all these yrs is the remix or original version. Seems to be the same version as the video (which I think people say is the remix). I have tried looking up the original on YouTube and nothing comes up. Can anyone help me out here? What is the difference between the original and remix? Thanks guys!
Yeah i definitely read it t somewhere on here earlier in the week...can’t remember how or where I stumbled across it. I had no idea about 2 versions until I read it on here.
Thanks BA!!! that's the post I was trying to find. But I am still wondering what the difference is between the two versions (can't find the "original" version on youtube anywhere). Any idea what the differences are? I am assuming that because ALL of my versions of that song sound the same that I have the "remix" version?
Fun story for you Dokken-ites; Few weeks ago I got wise to a small ESP Guitars event 5 minutes from my house that George Lynch was going to be 'jamming' at. I went down, got to hang with him a bit, talked 'tone', took pictures, video, the whole deal. He played bluesy jams through a small Line 6 modeling amp but the tone was classic George Lynch. Great time and an extremely personable chap.
He felt like Don's voice sounds. I will say that the new song they did with Lynch & Pilson 2 years ago came out great, despite Don's more limited voice.
I don't, as I haven't heard this "early version" either.. at least as far as i know. Do you have an original pressing? Would help to know a date of the remix. Could ask those users in that thread
Count me as a long time Dokken fan who has never heard of any alternate version of Just Got Lucky. Anyway for anyone who's interested Don's second solo cd SOLITARY is finally out 31 Jan next year with 3 additional tracks. It's been along time coming since it originally was released in very limited quantities back in 2008 and a very small reprint for the Japanese date that the DVD was partially recorded at a few years back. So in a nutshell its out 31 Jan on Cleopatra (CD and limited edition red vinyl) and the track listing is as follows: In The Meadow I'll Never Forget Where The Grass Is Green Jealous* Ship Of Fools You Are Everything Venice Sarah My Heart Will Go On** The Tragedy Someday All That Love Can Be** * = New Track (both formats) ** = New Track (CD only)
depends if you like 80's hard rock bands like ratt, quiet riot, etc. dokken is one of the more talented bands like from that era
Jeff Pilson is part of a new project with Reb Beach, Robin Macauley called Black Swan I’m interested in. They’re releasing a song Dec 10. Lynch Mob & Dokken ‘Reunion show’ near me in a few months. I’d guess the reunion will be without Jeff or Mick?
I remember that.. do you remember if they said Jeff or Mick would be involved? Sounds like George is just gonna jump on stage to play with Dokken for a few songs.
