I have to say Innerspeaker sounds pretty damn good on my system.

I don't buy that. That's a suspect entry. Its listed as mp3 (which shouldn't make a difference), but it doesn't track with any other entries for that release. And just listening to clips from that album online, I'd be very surprised it this was the one album that sounded as compressed as it did but still scored (according to the DR Meter) as reasonably dynamic.

I'd be more inclined to get into this group if they put out good sounding releases, but just listening to clips of their music is fatiguing. I really only know "Elephant" and like their sound a bit, but I've got enough crappy sounding CD's. Not buying any more if I can help it.

    I would say Lonerism.

    All 3 Albums are essential-IMO

Innerspeaker and Lonerism are more Psychedelic- Rock. Currents is more Dance/Groove-Psychedelic but sounds, well, more Current. I hope Parker moves on to a New Sound on the Next Album, as the Best Music Artists do not put out the same Music on most of their Albums, but they evolve(I know a difficult concept for those on this Forum stuck in the 1960s/1970s).

For some reason, a lot of people think that Parker did not play Guitar on Currents just because you can dance to most of the Songs, but he does. Just check out this Live Performance of 'The Less I Know the Better' below, or 'Let it Happen' when TI played Glastonbury 2016.

For pure songwriting, the best is Lonerism, although Currents is close. However, for pure sound, you can't beat Innerspeaker. The cosmic, heavy guitar groove is unbeatable on that one.

You really need all three of these albums to fully understand the trajectory of TI. This is one of the greatest bands on the planet at the moment. Where Kevin takes us next....is uncharted territory. And that's exactly where I want to go.

I loved the first two records, but held off on buying Currents. Given space and money limitations, I just couldn't convince myself to buy another record that was uncomfortable to listen to, no matter how much I liked the band. This thread has inspired me to check Currents out on Spotify...

Yes. You typed "was" when you should've typed "wasn't." No problem though!

No. I wanted to type "was". I thgough it was great. Beautiful music. But i cant consider myself a fan of a band wich i listen to only an album only once. (The words "Im not a fan" are the genesis of this missunderstandig.)

I think Innerspeaker is a far better album than Currents. Lonerism isn't bad either, though I got very tired of hearing the Elephant single, which seems a rather dumb song. Currents just sounds too slick for me, as though he was trying for a dance club record.

Was hoping too for Coachella appearance but Kevin says it’s not ready and will not rush it for a deadline.
