Fortunately, my London travel plans just happened to coincide with the reunion concerts (the same thing happened to me with Brian Wilson's Smile concerts last year), so I'm going to try to get tickets to one of the last two shows.

For all the other Cream fans out there, here's the official ticketing info:

Tickets go on sale Monday 31 January at 9AM (GMT - UK Time).

Shows are 2, 3, 5 and 6 May at London's Royal Albert Hall.

Tickets are priced at £50, £75, £125 - There is a four ticket limit per person.

Tickets may be purchased from Bookings Direct by phone:
    0870 143 2208 (UK)
    +44 870 143 2208 (from outside the UK)

You may also purchase tickets via their website at www.bookingsdirect.com.

No personal callers to the Royal Albert Hall box office - there will be telephone and internet bookings only.

I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed that we will get special DVD and CD releases from this very special happening.

    I wish!

As a teacher I can't pick my holiday time, and so can't leave work to go

Wish I was either rich enough to quit or a few years older [not really] and able to retire so I could make the trip.

I have a friend who was a teacher (now retired) who was also obsessed with rare birds. He would often fly almost anywhere in the country at the drop of a hat to see a rarity. When asked about the conflict of birding and teaching schedule, he said that what "sick time" was for...

Actually it is pretty cheap to fly to London these days especially with advance notice.

I saw Cream in an impromptu battle of the bands with Ted Nugent at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit a long time ago. They both played Crossroads if I'm not mistaken and the opinon of the crowd was that Nugent had blown Clapton off the stage....wonder if either of them remember that night?

The show was awesome but someone broke into my car and stole some valuable, er, ah, "produce" that night along with a nasty-looking scimitar. Bummer.

My friend Barry got front row, center for 3 of the shows, & 2nd row center for the fourth on the internet this morning. I hate his freakin' guts! :D

The truly awful prospect of a 15 minute plus version of Toad is enough to keep me away! Cream were often quite good in the studio, but live they epitomised the worst excesses of their era.

I hate his freakin' guts too :) I don't know how the heck he managed to do that. I was at the office using the T-1 connection at 4:00 in the morning. It took me 30 minutes just to get to the ticket order screen, and I never managed to get the next screen to load. After 90 minutes I gave up. Oh, and all the while I was speed dialing on two phone lines. No dice.

I ended up getting a "cheap seat" from a broker, but it's cheap only in comparison to the mind blowingly exorbitant prices that prime seats like what your friend Barry has are selling for. But hey, at least I'm in the building.

Sorry to be negative, but can Jack Bruce even sing some of that stuff anymore? He sounded pretty rough on the Ringo All Starr DVD.
