Agreed, I never understand why people turn against someone for political beliefs. All I care about is does the music sound great coming through my speakers or headphones ? and with Phil or Genesis the answer is always YES.
I've seen her in a couple of movies, she's very good. I'll be honest and say that the Mrs had to tell me though. I pay little to no attention
I find it interesting that Lily is in film ”The Blind Side”, playing a role of someone with the first name “Collins”.
I've been trying to find the clip of him on "Al Murray's Happy Hour" chat show around the time of the Genesis reunion. He was in good humour and accepted an invitation to do a drum duet using the "bar" set as the kit. Any one out there able to post?
Couldn't agree more. Didn't know about the 4 male escorts. I'm sure she'll be ordered to come up with a similar amount for her misdeeds......
‘My better half made me sit through Emily In Paris on Netflix. She is listed as a producer on that show. Scenery is stunning, I have to say it was better than I thought, and she is a great little actress. She is very popular with young kids and I find it funny looking at the threads where they are saying I think she has a famous father.
People can be just as compassionate about their political beliefs as they are about music. Artists should keep them separate. It certainly hurt Collins's credibilty and profile in the UK.. He was portrayed a joke by the press at this point in his career.
not found what you're looking for yet but in the mean time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHjieD6CTYs
More about Phil and Frida .... I should have mentioned too that the keyboardist on the album is J. Peter Robinson, who had history with Phil from Brand X and Phil's first two solo albums .... Also that the album has a remake of Phil's song "You Know What I Mean".... Frida, recently divorced from Benny Andersson, was a fan of Face Value. Here is their duet from the album ..... the cd has a bonus track that is a Frida-alone mix. Here is documentary footage of them working on "You Know What I Mean". Some of this was done in London .... Beatle Paul makes an appearance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tn92KgrQb2s Something's Going On - Wikipedia As I posted in another thread ..... What went wrong with Led Zeppelin at Live Aid?
So he isn’t allowed an opinion just because he sings for a living? The thing that killed his career was over exposure and the divorce by fax BS, not if he hated Labour or not. I remember I was around, also if you watch his a life less ordinary doc he actually admits it was the fax stuff that killed him. Bruce Springsteen doesn’t seem to be impacted despite his hatred of the Donald.
You don’t like much do you? I see a lot of negative posts from you which is a shame because when you post positive stuff you come across quite well.
That video was the first concert footage had ever seen of Phil. Was a TV-fm radio simulcast. Watching that clip brings back fond memories.
A gifted songwriter. His material feels so real about life. I love his solo albums. Wonderful depth in the music and productions. A top notch understanding about dynamics in his vocals. As a matter of fact, the first couple of days this week I played the cassette of the "..But Seriously.." album on lovely, warm sounding bookshelf stereo and that album still touches me to this day.
Same here. I was 10 at the time. Here in The 48, No Ticket Required was shown on HBO in late 1985 or early 1986 and didn't have a VCR yet, let alone the ability to record it to audio cassette. I regard that period, or tour, where it was perfected with Phil Collins. His 1981-82 live stuff sounds crude and limited, where by Serious Hits Live it got too clean and thin. No Ticket Required has that visible-cigarette-smoke and pounding intensity where it's all good.
