I recently purchased and watched the new Apollo 11 documentary. Like most other people who saw it, either at an IMAX theatre or in the comfort of their own home, I was endlessly thrilled by what I'm sure was the greatest technological feat of the 20th century!

I also wondered if any American forum members were among those huge crowds that day in July, almost 50 years ago, taking in the massive spectacle. And if you were, did you make it into the final cut of the documentary? I'm sure that would have been an unforgettable experience and I'd love to hear about it!

  2. Great question.
I hope we have a few who were on sight, and they are willing to tell us about what they remember.
I was a little kid and probably not in a position to care much about the actual occurrence.
I vaguely remember people huddled around the TV, and MAN did I have to be quiet.

I am old enough to remember that it was Cape Kennedy in those days.
