Certainly in streams but it would be nice to know how many people and their average listens a year. If one person listens to Here Comes the Sun a hundred times a week and 10 people listen to Something 9 times a week, does that really make Here Comes the Sun the most listened to song?

An A level song if there ever was one. I never get tired of hearing. Beautifully played, recorded, and sung, (don’t like vocal on one side only - but that’s another thread) A standard.

Usually these things are easily explicable by checking whether they have just been used in a popular movie or a margarine advert. Here's four facts I shamelessly stole from wikipedia that might help understand why the song is 'most streamed' and 'most popular song with millenials' or that suggest that it is also considered one of their best in general by other listeners. The first fact is probably the most recent example of high-level exposure that the song has got and could explain a lot if only we knew the politics of those new listeners:

    • Here Comes the Sun was played as the entrance music for Ivanka Trump at the 2016 Republican National Convention.
    • The NME placed it at number 4 in the magazine's 2015 list of 'the 100 Greatest Beatles Songs'
    • While expressing regret at having underestimated Harrison as a songwriter, [George] Martin described "Here Comes the Sun" as being "in some ways one of the best songs ever written"
    • It was sung by Sheryl Crow on the soundtrack to the 2007 movie, Bee Movie.

By “Beatles Legacy” do you mean largely dominated by John and Paul? Just curious what you mean. Good post by the way!

Come Together happens to be my least favorite on Abbey Road haha

well it was a #1 in the UK, but I do remember in 2002, timing with the 25th anniversary of his death, the media really pushed this remix saying that Elvis was now going to be hip again with younger people (because after all, The Beatles 1 had helped introduce another generation to them) but while the Elv1s album sold quite well, that remix did make quite a thud in the US when it was being pushed to where it was supposed to be challenging Eminem and Destiny's Child

Elvis became popular with some children when his music was featured in the movie starring The Rock, "Game Plan".

Interesting thing about '39, once upon a time when Amazon provided editorial reviews for albums, on the one they had for A Night at the Opera it said '39 was McCartney-esque.

It really has so much going for it musically and lyrically. It captures Harrison at a point in time when he was beginning to peak as a songwriter. To me that's a very beautiful thing to observe!

Ignorance has become your go to defense. Along with the Age Card.

    "I don't know what you're talking about."

Seriously, if you can't compete in the arena of ideas and conveniently fake confusion and weakly play the Age Card as a desperate final ploy, you must be put on Ignore. Study up and refresh your memories, son.

I’m a millennial, and I got into the Beatles via this song...in 1999. It was in the remake of The Parent Trap.

I highly doubt that all these listeners know it’s a George song or feel burdened by the weight of the Lennon/McCartney legacy. It’s a lovely, uplifting song, and we live in terrible, terrible times. That’s it.
