Good shielded RCAs are cheap enough. There is no reason to recommend unshielded RCAs I can think of.

Some people think they sound better (brands like Morrow, Kimber, etc. offer unshielded cables that many people like).

Are they shielded? Full specs listed? If not I'd look elsewhere. Dealers love "audiophile" branded cables because they are profitable.

So, assuming that's true (and I'm not doubting it), any decent* shielded or unshielded cable would be suitable, it sounds like.

    *Whatever that means. :)

I wouldn’t have any objection to the brand, and would like buying from a local dealer, but I’d hit my limit at about the Stream level.

I've heard all that before. Science tells us shielded cables are better. Then again I don't believe the earth is flat and I'm not buying a set of Shatki Stones either...

You think that would be adequate? The dealer is recommending something right at the upper middle level of their range. The Equinox 8 is shielded (as is the Stream) and uses the OCC copper someone mentioned. I imagine either would work fine. Thanks. Maybe something in between?

Depends on the environment and application. Scientifically speaking.

I do think Stream would be adequate and probably about as good as the cables above it in the Wireworld lineup. If I decided to move up from there, I wouldn’t likely have any regret. I certainly don’t feel any need to cheap out on cables, although I have one pretty cheap pair in the system right now.

Wire world makes excellent cables. If you can swing OCC ones in your budget I think that's a good recommendation.

I'll think I'll probably go with the Equinox. Can't hurt and they'll last a lifetime probably and if I ever upgrade anything else that deserves this level, I'll have a pair already. Thanks

I really like Audioquest Yukon. I believe it retails for $300 for 1 meter.
