I love Tangerine Dream. Saw them 3 times 1980, 1985 & 1988. In fact I just got the Phaedra Farewell Tour 2014 - The Concerts and surprisingly am enjoying it as 2000's TD I don't really like.

Along with Can, Neu! and Amon Duul II, Agitation Free ranks as one of my top German bands from the 70s. I just wish that they had released more albums in their heyday. I love the exotically textured atmospherics of their debut.

I don't have this one but I do have Free Electric Sound which is fantastic! Really great, unsung band IMO.

IV was my very first krautrock album back in the early 90s.... simply amazing! It's gonna be incredible to see them live at Big Ears next year with Tony Conrad.

Puhdys. Not exactly kraut or space but a GDR pop/rock band behind the wall that dabbled in some Deep Purplish prog.

Ja Vol.... I am listening to the album Spartacus by the '70's Kraut-Rock group Triumvirat. I have the EMI Harvest version which could basically "shake the floor" of our dorm room at University of Illinois with a Shure V15III, Dynaco Stereo 70, PAS-3, and FMI 100 loudspeakers. The Capitol release couldn't do it.

Phenomenal album. I think the original boot CD on Germanophon sounds better than the Garden of Delights CD, which is a bit compressed. I've never heard an original LP.

La Dusseldorf. Probably my favorite of the electronic groups with vocals.

  21. Prompted by another thread querying as yet unreleased material from "significant" artists, I'm currently on a 1975 Kraftwerk fix. I've got about six different concert performances in rotation - these are still loosely definable as "krautrock", given the acoustic instruments used and the loose improvisational prog rock feel here and there.

Went w/my favorite guitar player======Michael Rother and Katzenmusik. As a direct result of that, what I have to play next is an oldie but goodie Neu and specifically Hallogallo.

Been listening to the Cosmic Jokers albums lately as I've just finished reading Brian Barritt's Road of Excess where he tells tales of the Cosmic Joker sessions and his times with Leary in Switzerland and Algeria.
