He thought of it as a novelty record and it annoyed him that it became a hit and not one of his more serious songs

  4. It was funny how Jim Kerr would moan about what a lame song this supposedly was - and then they followed it up with "Alive and Kicking", which was practically a photocopy.

Jakob Dylan has expressed regret that he recorded "One Headlight" because he doesn't really like it but it's his most well known song so he has to sing it at shows.

  6. As you may know, Frankie's disdain for the song as expressed in concert helped inspire the name of a famous cartoon dog. "Scooby dooby doo, exchanging glances..."

I had always heard it was "My Way." His youngest daughter, Tina, said he wasn't a fan of the song.

And he hated Scooby Doo as well. Frank was a real sourpuss.

Dexy's Midnight Runners - aka Kevin Rowland and company - apparently hates "Come on Eileen" to this day since it was their most requested song (and their one hit wonder).

“I went to a funeral in Harrow where I grew up. It was a wake and someone put it on then. Some people do that if I’m there, they’ll put it on and then they’ll look at me and see my reaction,” he said.

Slash isn’t overly fond of Sweet Child O Mine, particularly since he came up with the riff as kind of a joke/warm up.

Don MacLean dislikes American Pie for overshadowing everything else he did.

Gene Simmons hates I Was Made For Lovin You, which was one of KISS’ few actual hits.

Is that because Paul sang the lead and it was a hit?

    More because it was disco.

Dylan didn't like "Lay Lady Lay" and didn't want it to be released as a single

Yeah, I heard this too. But George said when he wrote it, he was very inspired by Prince.

That's unfortunate. Even though Rod Stewart lost fans when he recorded "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy," I applaud the fact that he never dismissed the song.

Brian May doesn't like Queen's Don't Stop Me Now. It was dropped from their set list quickly at the time. He dislikes it because he says it's Freddie singing about his new hedonistic lifestyle, but probably also because there's not much guitar on it.

Having said all that, Don't Stop Me Now was never one of Queen's most popular hits when they were going. It's become extremely popular over the last 10-15 years.

I did a poll about that song here.

    So many people hate it.

    Yes, I love it too.

But that poll inspired some dark thoughts in people.

I think that's why I like it. It's a bit of fun. A lot of serious rock fans don't like fun, especially without loud guitars!

Doesn't he hate "Just the Way You Are"? I'm no Joel expert but I'm under the impression he's pretty negative toward it...

It's not one of my favorite SM tracks, but I also don't hear how it's a photocopy.

You would think that 40 years would have made people's hatred for disco dissipate, but some people will go to their grave hating disco music. LoL. I know the music became massively overexposed from 1977-79, but I just don't like that people refuse to admit anything of merit came out of that genre. But to each their own.
