I actually like Bon Iver, but not my favorite by any means. Loved his first LP when it came out.

There are plenty of artists I respect even if I don't care for their music much (and vice-versa). :)

Now, do you like/love other British invasion bands not called Beatles or Stones?

Just keep listing them people. I'm taking names. I can assure that you will be hearing from the authorities!

Bahaha. I'm fairly new to this board, but easily my favorite posts are the Dylan and Beatles haters. It's like going to a sermon and standing up to say Jesus isn't that big of a deal.

That's exactly why I named him. Some of these artists may become loved at some point.

I hear you. Sometimes I have to challenge myself to get into an artist or album that I don't really understand at first.

I'm going to make a suggestion: Try to take REM seriously as a band only from 81-84. Then forget all the press and hype, and Billboard. They were a different band.

I wanted to say something along these lines as well. Did I miss out on an alternate reality where Dan Fogelberg is really cool?

Yes, I have R.E.M. first 2 albums, and Automatic for the People. They were so huge in the 80's, but I was never that into them.

"Supposed" to be into? If it doesn't click with me I just move on and find someone else.
