I just received the biography of The Atlanta Rhythm Section in the mail today. It was written by Vintage Guitar Magazine writer Willie Moseley. Skimming through it, it looks like a good read. Lots of details that I was unaware of. Nice looking hardcover too! Anybody else read this yet?

I didn't know this existed and will probably buy it. Hopefully, it contains information about their connections to Dennis Yost and the Classics IV. Thanks for the post.

Weren't at least a couple of members also associated with The Candymen, Roy Orbison's backup band?

No tracklist. I hope there is some good bonus material. It's 8 discs and they put out 8 albums on Polydor I believe. I preordered it but I may cancel if it is just a repackage of what's out there in a box without any bonus material or upgrade. I do love the ARS though, so I may keep it too! They are one band that has not got the recognition they deserve. Great musicians. Great music. Ronnie Hammond was a great singer and Barry Bailey was one of my favorite guitarists in the 70s.

I see on the IMWAN site that several people are ordering this from the Amazon UK site for ~$36. When I pull up the link, it states that the item does not ship to the US, however several of those posting that they've ordered it are from the US.
Also, one of the posters mentioned it being in a clamshell, but I read a review a couple days ago and the reviewer stated it was in mini-lp form with an outer box.

I love The Atlanta Rhythm Section. The first album I bought was the Live album in 1980.
I have almost all of them now. I had a chance to see them on a double bill with Sea Level,
but I couldn't go for some reason. I never had another chance. This book sounds interesting.
I really like the Classics IV too.

They are pretty awesome live, albeit with almost no original members left.

I consider myself fortunate enough to have seen the original band live once in 1977. They sure were on fire that night.

    I'm currently re-reading this book.
If anything it has too much information as I don't particularly care when their drivers & roadies came & went.
But still, better than too little information.
