Bob dylan 2.jpg Worked on this today but I haven't quite finished this up. Stephen Marsh is still going at it at the studio but I'm home now.

It's going to be great. We managed to use all original mixes for all songs. Before I finish this up, is there someone out there who can comment on what the common problems are with the other versions of this out there over the years? I think we have it all correct but I want to avoid the same pitfalls, if any. This is your chance to have some real input on an important SACD release.

This will be a hybrid two disk SACD/CD set from Audio Fidelity. Both the DSD and CD sections will be of the highest quality.

Comment please, I have a few more days to nail this.

    Thanks!!

I can't think of anything you don't already know. On my original vinyl the Drums on Watching the River Flow are kinda low in the mix. I Don't own any cd of GHV2, just the original Columbia record.

Were you able to find the mid-bass in all the songs? even with the song coming from all those different sources (Tapes. albums, EQ's)?

"original mixes" means album mixes or 45 mixes? or just same mixes as were used on the first edition of this collection? Thanks.

This can't be an SACD. That is a dead format! ;)

Besides we all agreed on the forum that hirez digital does not improve sound quality. :D

Steve will this be on one hybrid sacd or 2? Will you be using any 45 mixes on any of the songs?
I have never had this lp before, just the Vol. 1. Have you started on it now? Are we looking about a May or
Jun release? Thanks and a great masterpiece for you to apply your "magic"!

I went back to the original stereo version of My Back Pages From the First Pressing and I hated it. Please let's use the mono for that one song, maybe? lol, gotta love some of us on though.

Listening to my vinyl copy tonight I noticed a pretty lopsided mix used for "I'll be your Baby Tonight" - or was it some pressing / mastering glitch? Sounded bad. In fact, as I'm listening to the whole LP set - I'm really looking forward to the AF release all the more!

Are there any eq moves, secret sauce ladling, etc, during the laying down of a master? Or all all the adjustments set, and not touched for the duration of a particular track?

Well, sometimes parts of songs needs different secret sauce than other parts, so yes, moves are always being made in that case. Mostly, adjustments are set before transfer.
