I guess one can't use headphones with it: There's no headphone jack nor any pre-amp outs. That would be a deal-breaker for me.

ARC has the new I50 hitting the streets any time now. Looks interesting, and if the DAC is up to their standards it could be really nice. I am curious to see what modules they have for the onboard slots. Honestly, I’ve owned plenty of amps that required biasing (ARC, Rogue, Cayin, etc) and biasing is generally very simple. Not sure why it would drive a decision, but everyone has their reasons.

Easy ... my hands. Same reason that I have difficulty with my turntable. Glad that others don't have this struggle. seriously

maybe you could get a friend to do it for you periodically. As with so many things on these audio boards, it’s made out to be a much bigger deal than it is. I check mine every few months and it’s rare that they need any tweaking at all, even if let to sit for months.

I'd like that. The vsi75 for $9500 is tempting. my wife is even hesitant to try that.

I just got a GSi75 that was listed for $9000 used. Amazing integrated with DAC and phono. Bias is very simply as it has a digital readout and trim pots on the side.

You anywhere close to Birmingham? :D

Heck of a drive from New Orleans to help bias an amp, but I appreciate the offer :biglaugh::edthumbs:

As Bachtoven said above, Ayon amps are auto-biasing.
    I've got an Ayon Scorpio.

The Atma-sphere amps all have self-biasing. They don't like low impedance speakers, though, something I found out the hard way. There is a work-around for that.

They are made in Minnesota. I've been in Ralph Karsten's shop. It exactly fits the definition of a "cottage industry."

  16. I owned VTL 450MKII for many year and have never had an issue. Have a look at the VTL line, you may find something you like.

Sent a msg to vtl requesting info on a dealer. No response yet. I liked what I saw, but that made me wonder

The VTL I85 and the BAT vk80i look about similar, except price: the VTL I85 is much cheaper. What do you guys think of VTL versus BAT in terms of brand reputation for reliability and good sound?

Love it, but I don't go for those low power tube amps. :biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

Some of the new Jadis amps (and integrated’s) are self biasing. Superb if in budget.

No love for exotic sounding amp on this page. Besides a few, most that I see is KT tube family. Power pack sound....
No EL34/EL84/6B4G/300B/845/ so and so forth...?
