Horace Tapscott With The Pan-Afrikan Peoples Arkestra – Ancestral Echoes - The Covina Sessions, 1976
ICP Tetterett recent re-release on Corbett VS Dempsey Misha & Han with: John Tchicai Gilius V. Bergeyk Peter Bennink Peter Brotzmann Bert Koppelaar Tristan Honsinger Michel Waisvisz Alan Silva maybe my favorite credit is Waisvisz is on “crackle box” recorded between September 14-17, 1977 playing TUNES - mostly Misha Mengelberg inventions
Uh oh, now we need to start a sub-thread for avant garde physical media only. And maybe a sub-sub thread for vinyl only
Love Ellen Fullman and her "Long String Instrument", and this new one by her and cellist Theresa Wong might be my favorite yet. Simultaneously mind bending and soothing at once. Harbors, by Ellen Fullman & Theresa Wong
If you like it you'll probably also like the album she did with Okkyung Lee, which features cover artwork by Bill Nace. Much in the same vein.
Thanks Sam... I like Bill Nace's music and artwork. That cover reminds me of the t-shirt he did for Three Lobed Recordings:
It’s on my to buy list. Any comments? Long time listener to Malaby & Davis. Saw Fraser once live and he was great. I avoided the trio discs with those 3 on Clean Feed as their sound usually disappoints on a fairly deep level.
