Great thread! Lots of familiar names here, and much to explore. I'll throw Julia Kent into the mix. Went down a rabbit hole one night and there she was. Solo Cello performer, and I thought I'd read that she briefly toured with Tindersticks. More on the slow side of things, but from what I've heard from "Asperities", it's well constructed. Fits into what I've been spending a lot of time listening to lately. Give it a listen, we all need something for lazy weekend mornings/late nights. Home – Julia Kent

I know 'opinions vary' on whether the Negativland-gang is true 'avant-garde', or straight-up comedy, but, there's radio-show called Mid-Valley Mutation that recently had an interview with The Weatherman The Weather Report (w/ The Weatherman!) (#76) | Mid-Valley Mutations AND...... this Fri., he'll have Mark! The following week, WOBBLY, and then, on Dec.15, my precious PEOPLE LIKE US!! So, I just figured I'd post it up here, for anyone interested.
1:17:00 Quote "digital spoiled everything...", The Weatherman. Thanks vince! Man this brings back some memories. JamCon 84, I've got the tape. I'll try to check out Mark and Wobbly.
I've brought her up a few times here, but, I'll 'sell' her again; People Like Us is a 'one-woman' band who took the old 'Negativland' sound, and added lots of 'silly noises' , and, is quite happy to be arbitrary than political. She has a semi-regular show on WFMU, which is pretty much an Avant-Guarde Dr. Demento!
