(Gorts, if there's already a thread for AXPONA 2022, please delete.)

I just purchased a 1-day ticket. I'll be there this Friday morning, hoping to avoid the big Sat crowd. By the list of participating exhibitors on the AXPONA website, this is looking to be a huge show.

As usual, I don't expect to get too serious sound judgements on equipment. as most rooms are blaring some jazz or electronic funk, making it difficult to judge subtleties of reproduction capabilities. But it's still fun to get an idea of looks, build quality, and over-all sound-picture of what a speaker can do (less so with electronics). The headphone area can be much more useful in this regard.

Too bad there's not a SHMF mingle room!

EDIT: Please move to hardware forum

I'm planning to go Saturday knowing it will be very crowded, but it's the only day that works for me.

Sunday is the best day. All the systems are dialed in and it's the least crowded.

Been here since open this AM

big systems, big amps, commercial sound, boomy bass.

    of interest
aretai speakers benchmark la4 and dual AHB2
good dynamic clear sound from small bookshelfs in the rear passive bass driver mode of the buchardts.
reminiscent of good active studio monitors which seems to be the benchmark sound signature.

    Best sound so far

Audio Note system with cobra amp and an e d hemp speakers.

big advantage for small rooms with speakers designed for close to wall corner loading. a clean clear super micro macro dynamic sound. best sounding bass, deep fast, balanced and
dynamic. excellent clean clear midrange that pops. my kind of sound. could be in my future.

Linear tube audio preamp and amp.
    Devore gibbon super 9
    narrow towers.
The LTA amp drives super impressive deep bass and a huge sound. amazing.
overall presentation lacks midrange and is unnaturally bright and edgy

    Volti Audio Razz speakers
The speakers I came to hear did not let me down. huge wall of dynamic sound made more impressive being driven by a 16 watt SET amp albeit a very expensive one.
Big deep bass, clear highs. midrange slightly recessed but adjustable.
Good option for a more refined, uncolored horn sound

unbelievable bass from these speakers, huge grip and depth by the Chord amp. Super sweet and enjoyable midrange and treble, an infectious easy to like sound right in my brit mon wheelhouse
