Bad News For Hi-Rez Music

    Sorry to keep harping on this but IMO while hi-res stereo won't do much for the general public, based on personal experiences with "those" people I am positive the surround portion of the hi-res formats could sucessfully be marketed as a cool thing.

    While not in the majority, there are still people who don't mind owning elaborate systems for music playback. I.e. while they won't admit it here, I'll bet there are some who would be proud to show off their "kick-a*s" :) five-speaker multichannel music rig to their buddies and their girlfriends. And like me, simply don't care about having five speakers + a sub adorning their living room (when new people see all these in my own system [not the sub-don't own one yet] they always comment on it).

    There are still people who think surround sound for movies is a gimmick ("but the picture is only two-dimensional!") but 5.1 music could be a whole other subject for them..............if they knew it existed.
