I was wondering as you do what is the best dvd of the complete Bagpuss children's cartoon series current available (and playable in Region 2 UK/Europe)? Is there a blu ray available at all?
There are a couple of different U.K. DVD editions, both from Universal. I don’t think there’s much between them. Just a case of reissue/repackage. No BD. I doubt that’ll ever happen.
I carefully avoided the word “never” and, instead, plumped for the less divisive “doubt”. And I stand by that.
I didn't know about Bagpuss until I saw it on an episode of Charlie Brooker's Screenwipes. Not sure we got it in Australia.

Bagpuss and jam butties at dinnertime... I haven't got it but there's a rather extensive CD of all the music plus more available at the moment called (aptly enough) "The Music from Bagpuss". An extensive restored blu-ray would be a treat. In any case ...Emily loved him.
