Also, bought a year earlier The Dictators. 1974/75/76...was a great time for the dawning of punk rock.

    Spinal Tap.

    Review of Intravenus de Milo:

This tasteless cover is a good indication of the lack of musical invention within. The musical growth of this band cannot even be charted. They are treading water in a sea of retarded sexuality and bad poetry.

Ha that's a good example. I'm a huge fan as well but any changes between the records (and A. Carl Newman's solo records) are pretty superficial and mostly only identifiable because of press releases. "This is is our take on electronica!" "This one is a folk album!" Meanwhile you get another bunch of songs that sound like really good Greg Kihn. I love it!

I assume this is tongue-in-cheek. Some sound similar to each other, particularly if they’re around the same time frame. Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main Street have similarities, but Exile on Main Street doesn’t sound like Some Girls doesn’t sound like Steel Wheels, and so on.

Both claims are as wrong as they could ever be.

Exile On Main Street & Goats Head Soup are as different to anything Brian Jones ever contributed to.
Black And Blue, Some Girls, Undercover and Bridges To Babylon are light years from anything Mick Taylor was a part of or Brian Jones for that matter.

Both statements are the same as claiming The Beatles did the same thing over and over after Revolver.

Bill Nelson but it''s complicated. Any artist with his high rate of output is bound to repeat themselves occasionally and Bill is trying to scratch out a living with these things but he basically has two or three styles of albums that he tends to go back to again and again. Even his mediocre albums feature excellent guitar playing and are beautifully produced, so supporting Bill is no heavy chore, but there is a part of me that wishes he would just do one more record that is completely outside of his usual musical parameters. I am grateful for what we do have though. It really is an embarrassment of riches.
