I watched the Batman series as a youngster. I remember buying the Neil Hefti 45 rpm of the theme song.
I also remember going to see the Batman movie at a Saturday matinee.

After 9/11, I went to a comic convention in Plano, Texas, where Adam West, Frank Gorshin and Julie Newmar were in attendance.

Burt Ward was supposed to be there also, but, he would not fly then, after 9/11, and so did not attend.

I had Adam sign my Batman The Move DVD. Frank was sitting next to him, and was not in good health. He was still smoking a lot then.

At the round table discussion, Adam West was in good from as he wryly announced to the crowd:
"Here we are, at another "Plain-Old" Batman Convention." (With "Plain-Old" sounding just like "Plano" !)

The audience asked about the release of the series, and hopes for commentary tracks for each episode. They explained that it was the lawyers haggling that was keeping the set from being released.

I assume some of the cost of the initial sets, are to recoup some of the legal expenses.

Just picked it up for $133 CAD from Future Shop after they price beat Amazon Canada's price of $142.99
    I can live with that.
Now just to return the copy I got from Costco for $199 when it came out.

Won't it be hilarious if the replacement disc only contains the missing scenes/dialog? TRT: 1:12.

Am I reading correctly - you fill out the form and KEEP the "bad" discs?

Got the DVD set for Christmas and watched a couple of the bonus documentaries, looking forward to watching more of the discs. :)

Just watched some of the shows and supplements tonight, and thought the transfers were very clean and not as dark as what I had seen in a preview six months ago. The documentaries are kind of low-rent and cheesy, and I think they could have done much more research and used original footage if they had spent more money. But there's some good stuff there, and I thought Adam West's bio piece was very heartfelt and well-done. You forget he had some harrowing years after the show went off the air, and he went through some bad times with crap movies and alcoholism, plus having to open up shopping centers and used car lots for a decade or so. He seems to be in good health and good spirits, and he looks pretty good for his age today.

  21. Adam West seemed pretty spry in the infomercial hawking this set.

He also did new voice tracks for the Batman slot machines.

Sure, his ego has been getting a good stroking for most all of 2014, who wouldn't enjoy this resurgence of attention ?

Adam West actually looks like he's in decent shape for being 86 years young, which is older than I thought!

Do I have the infomercial right? Seasons one and two, the Adam West disc, and the 66 movie for a hundred(five payments of 19.95)?
