Seeing as it's Summer and, more importantly I'm getting hungry, what is your favourite BBQ song. Here are a few and yeah they're real alright: 1) Pork Chop Blues 2) Steakhouse Rock 3) The BBQ Suite 4) Chicken In The Wind Hmmmm.........now where did that knife and fork go.....
What? No one has thought of the great and obvious "Struttin' With Some Barbecue" yet? Or am I alone in the jazz world here?

Hey MagicAlex, I wanted to post a picture too, but I haven't yet figured out how to reduce the size down below 125K. How do you do it and still retain some clarity? You got that right about Memphis BBQ. A place called Bozo's (a little east of Memphis in a town called Mason) has THE BEST IN THE WORLD.
I just chamge my image size in Photoshop (or any other image editor) to either 75 or 150 pixels (75 gives a smaller file while 150 gives a clearer pic). Either pixel setting usually produces an image of an acceptable file size. You can download many freeware image converters online if you do not have image editing software. Hope this helps!

Oh yeah! Great series! Have you heard the new releases in the 'Rare Groove' series yet? Bobbi Humphrey - Satin Doll Eddie Henderson - Sunburst Jack McDuff - Moon Rappin' Jimmy McGriff - The Worm Richard Groove Holmes - Comin' on Home I don't have any of them except for 'Moon Rappin' in it's original release. I haven't heard anything by most of these artists...and I claim to be a 'real' Blue Note fanatic!
I've got all but the Bobbi Humphrey (which isn't quite my thing). All are good, but I especially like Sunburst & Comin' On Home. Do you guys have the older ones as well? Ronnie Foster's "Two-Headed Freep" may be my favorite one of them all. Ray
As for BBQ songs, you can add Louis Jordan's "Beans and Cornbread" to the list. Heck, you can make a pretty good BBQ album out of just Louis Jordan songs: "Salt Pork, W. VA" "Ain't Nobody Here but us Chickens" "Saturday Night Fish Fry" "That Chick's Too Young To Fry" (though I don't think he's talkin' 'bout food with this one ) and of course... "What's the Use of Getting Sober..." Ray
