When will we get Carl n Passions on SACD? Where is MIU? MIU is MIA!
When will we get Christmas, Wild Honey, Friends, and 20/20? Answer: never, so it seems.
I had a 3% hope that, seeing new posts in this thread, maybe something for these got announced. Such a bummer we'll likely never get them. Please, take my money!!
Yes, we can still dream: let's get all the titles mentioned above and a nice collectors box for our treasure!
Yep I'm missing Surf's Up too
"Tomboy" in Desperround 4.0: talk about the potential for critical reevaluation...
"Hey, little tomboy, sit here on my lap"
I asked again recently on IG regarding the rest of the albums, and they confirmed they’re still off the table.
Shame. I'd love a Kevin Gray "Friends".
That's a pity, a CATP/Holland set might be interesting for even casual/non-fans. WE can hope for digital releases at the last minute, though.
I'm talking for AP SACD releases. Who knows regarding a CATPHolland box though - we can do but hope!
Ope, sorry, I got my Beach Boys threads confused!
Pardon my ignorance… "IG"?
Instagram I think.
Shane of Intervention Records uses Kevin Grey on many of his top notch reissues....I wonder if Shane is a Beach Boys fan! Hmmmmm...
Random question and hoping someone knows the answer. On Shut Down V2, why is “Why Do Fools Fall In Love” mono on both the mono and stereo sections of the SACD? There was never even a duophonic version on the original LP?
No, there was never a duophonic version made. Same with Denny’s Drums, as well.
So they were just mono on the original stereo album just as they are presented on the SACD?
Saw it on Ebay:
THE BEACH BOYS - Surf's Up SACD Analogue Productions CD OOP PROMO | eBay
Friends is arguably one of their best albums, and supposedly one of Brian’s favorites, but all we get recently is some digital download thing??
The SACD is from the original stereo master. Like on the All Summer Long SACD, you get I Get Around and All Summer Long in Duophonic.
Shut Down Volume 2 by The Beach Boys
Sharing my pod again incase you’re interested in a direct comparison - the “stereomono” is actually an alternate mono mix. I reckon as Chuck was known for mixing stereo while monitoring in mono, he forgot to turn the panning knobs.
Mono and "stereo" of Why Do Fools Fall In Love are in fact two different mono mixes on mono/stereo LP.
So would I. A 20/20 would be great as well.
Separate names with a comma.
