I so hoped we were going to get one of those sets a year for the next ten years. Would have been perfect!

I am getting a bit antsy, too. I was hoping that there’d at least be an announcement for a Friends/“20/20” release this year. It’s already September. Maybe they’re going for a Christmas release, but I’m assuming that would mean it would be a physical release. I wouldn’t be very happy if we’re talking download only.

    Seems like it.
I’m positive there will be something at the end of the year. I’ve never cared whether it’s digital or not, just as long as we actually GET something, I’m a happy camper! :D

White Album hasn't been announced yet either. The Beach Boys lie in wait, ready to offer an affordable, compact alternative to $200 Beatle box. If you build it they will come.

In my book, the Beach Boys had the better archival release last year.

Best $15 I ever spent. Seriously, so much bang for the buck.

Of course, then they bent me over a barrel and showed me the 50 states with $60 worth of mp3s, but that's okay!

They are probably telling the truth that it isn't on Sunshine Tomorrow, but that doesn't mean the
tracks aren't from the Live Sunshine downloads. :D

Sounds like people are grumbling that it might not include a physical product. Personally, I'll take what I can get - assuming they have found something interesting in the vaults. One of my fave BB eras.

Quoting from a poster on page 5:

"So...Alan Boyd popped up on the Discord last night and talked about the 1968 set. Only plans for a digital release for now, mid to late December.

"Lots of interesting tracks and fragments from the FRIENDS and 20/20 sessions. New track and a cappella mixes too, alternate versions and a batch of concert tapes from the 1968 summer tour."

    It's coming, lads."

Would love Analogue Productions to go back and press Friends and 20/20...

Are there any particular known, booted or rumoured tracks that people here are hoping will be included?

I’m ready for The Beach Boys to outdo The Beatles again this year. I hope it’s mastered as well as last years release.

I don’t mind digital too much now, as I split these sets up into album specific deluxe editions now anyway. I just wish they could go back and do a proper 1965 set. I need Mike singing PLMW in studio quality!

Beatles? Who are they? They can have their 1,000+ pages thread for this "white" album thing - the BB set will be the real gem of the '68 anniversary releases. :)
