IIMO better than the UK with no edits, adjustments, etc. as the 2009 had...they are not pure. there's a list of the 2009 adjustments here somewhere on the forum...
The infestation of fanboys is one of the main causes, with silly threads. Did John Lennon stay regular by eating prunes or by putting Metamucil on his cornflakes? Then there are at least 3-4 times per year we have Capitol albums threads that have been argued to death over the past 15 years.
IMO only 3 Lennon songs were needed/fit the sonic landscape of Revolver: She Said, She Said, Tomorrow Never Knows and I'm Only Sleeping. The rest (along with Rain) belonged on Y&T as a nice bridge between Rubber Soul and Revolver. Even as is, I prefer US Revolver with Lennon closing out each side with stand-out tracks. It's darker and weirder than it's UK counterpart. I've also recently listened to the mono mixes of the Revolver songs on Y&D, and they aren't flat sounding like the mono UK Revolver tracks. Can anyone confirm that the US mono version is like that as a whole? If so, it would be quite a highlight of a Capitol Vol 3 release.
It doesn't matter how good the UK albums are, and how nice they sounded and how smartly put together. It doesn't matter how good or not good the US albums were, and if the sound quality sucked. What mattered is that the music itself was good enough that millions of Americans bought the Capitol albums, thus saving the Beatles from the fate of Cliff Richard. Remember that episode of the Young Ones? Where Rick says "Oh Cliff"? And if you were like me in America in the 1980s watching them on MTV you had no idea who he was talking about? If it wasn't for Capitol, he would have been saying "Oh The Beatles...."
they were and then they decided to give us the UK 1987 2009 masters along with the US Artwork instead and call it the Beatles U.S. Albums Box Set! which is not mastered from all of the US Capitol album tapes like Volume 1 and Volume 2 were...TRUE AMERICAN CAPITOL masters...
do you find humor in that? I do...and yet they pull a blind eye to so much garbage out there...yea, The Beatles might make one take up smoking! ah ha ha ha ... sad and sickening...
Indeed! Capitol and the USA made the Beatles fame and fortune everlasting...whether people care not to believe it it's a fact.. now go fact check it!
If they made the Anthology today, there would talk of lots of Coca-Cola and jelly beans being ingested.
yes I know which pics were airbrushed...I've commented on it many times...you weren't referring to the UK box set otherwise you would have quoted my post...I thought you knew that? whatever. ; )
Never mind the high fidelity issues most of these albums have. Why would you need to do 45 RPM on the US albums when most of them are less than 30 minutes long?
