I think more people will have heard it than one might think! All the Beatle kids and their friends etc. Nobody has even come out and said "It's good". I'd love to hear it, of course, and I'm certain one day it will be available but I don't really care either way :)

I woulda NEVER heard of Super Furry Animals, without buying it!
Boy, was I 'shocked & stunned' to find, instead of a Welsh Negativland, they were (are?) a really great band!
    Thanks, Paul!

I imagine it to sound like something like this, recorded around the same period......

That whole bar-sequence cracks me up in true stereo...you hear drunken jargin and nonsense (complements mostly of lennon)way in the background which is inaudible in the original mono (and edited) version. The Beatles, when in the proper mood, were apparently pretty funny guys.

  7. This. And keep in mind, they thought Revolution #9 and You Know My Name, Look Up The Number were worth releasing.

It's like a lesser version of Revolution 9. So it really sucks.

    Carnival of Sh**e then? :D
I'm not holding my breath for it, I'd want to hear if it was released I guess. I'd really much prefer a full stereo remix of 'I am the Walrus' to be fair...

I'd like to hear that one, although doubt it'll ever come out.
But if yes and if it sounds good enough (for me) I would place it on a self compiled double album version of Sgt. Pepper.^^

It's probably piece of crap, deal with it, it will be one major disapointment when it gets released. I hope it won't.

People just like the title, have assumed something great from it.

It's not like George Martin and the then-three surviving Beatles, when putting together Anthology, went 'OH MY GOD! WE'VE GOT TO PUT THIS OUT!"
    Quite the opposite.
I'm sure it's junk, and could care less about ever hearing it.

The myth & mystery is usually better and more fun than reality. It's like when Smile eventually appeared ...... it's like, ok, now what ?

But if anyone can sell the sound of a turd being polished, Apple Corps can.

IIRC it's 14 minutes long, so unless they edit it severely (only offering a one minute or less excerpt) I doubt almost anyone would bother listening to it all the way through even once!

If it did get released (or bootlegged) probably the most I'd do is go on Youtube (or wherever it gets posted) and listen to two or three seconds, move the play-bar thingy (don't know what its called) a couple minutes forward to see if anything different is happening, then move it another couple minutes more after listening to another 2 or 3 seconds - repeat until reaching the end of the track. So assuming they release the entire 14 minute track, I'll probably listen only once - and actually hear only 15-20 seconds of it in total while scanning through it that one time.

Do I care if they do release it/am I "looking forward" to hearing it? NO.

Would I give it a few seconds of my time to check it out, if it happened to get released/leaked? Yes - but only in the same way you can't stop yourself from at least stopping for a second to look at a car wreck - morbid curiosity.

“Carrnival of Light” may turn out to be just OK, but I’d rather see it released than yet another Giles Martin remix.

    I don’t know a single person who thinks it’s a lost masterpiece.
Everyone is however curious to hear it.
The Beatles were after all a pretty famous band ...
