They are going to release a two types of super duper deluxe editions with all 3 shows, original ticket stubs, and a box of original Hollywood Bowl popcorn. With the $499 edition, Bob Eubanks comes to your house and tell stories all night. With the $999 edition, he doesn't.

I purchase new Beatles releases even if I have bootlegs of the content, so as to give an incentive for more new releases. The only one I made an exception for was the faked version of the US albums, cause I don't want to encourage F-ing with history like that.

I usually do, too, but I kind of drew the line with the vol. 2 of the BBC sessions a couple of years ago...I dunno why, but I'm just now tired of buying stuff I already have when my $ could be spent on new (to me) stuff.

I felt the same way, and was able to get a copy of Vol2 cheap, and found it very enjoyable.

Not true. They're actually releasing the movie Let It Be in 3D Bluray with 7.1 sound tomorrow. Mono 2D version was canceled though.

I've a feeling this is legit, but the release date has been confused.

Could be (or it's now been pushed back because the film has been pushed back).

If they are going to release a live album alongside the film, the Hollywood Bowl tracks are the only decent quality stereo live tapes available, so it makes sense.

Is there any possibility at all that this would be done properly (i.e. at the very least each show complete, mixed nicely, proper packaging, good liner notes, plus original LP in original mix with original side break)? I should think the chance is slim.

I'd say that at best we'll get the best version of every song performed, not multiple versions. Just a guess though...

Yeah...that's what I'm afraid of. Better than nothing I suppose but they were quite different on the two tours - a lot of mileage in between. I'd really like the full shows mixed in stereo. I think the Real Love single mix of Baby's In Black was very tasteful.

Yes, but as long as Giles doesn't add studio elements to enhance the sound. No one here wants a live version of "A Hard Day's Night" with a guitar (with piano!!) studio overdub flown in, like was done on the "1" DVD.

Agreed. Don't worry that isn't going to happen.

I agree - that's why I'd prefer to have an accompanying CD to the film that ONLY featured the good-quality Hollywood Bowl recordings, rather than them decide to also include songs from other inferior sources with added jiggery-pokery (even if they do that in the film).

I'm worried already, and it's not even a definite thing that a CD is coming out eventually.

More likely they are songs performed but NOT included on the original Hollywood Bow LP. Why they wouldn't include ALL the songs performed but not on the original LP is anyone's guess. But I'm assuming if there was a lyric flub (as there were several) then they wouldn't include that as it would portray The Beatles as less than perfect.

Songs performed but not included on original LP:
    You Can't Do That (1964)
    If I Fell (1964)
I Want to Hold Your Hand (1964)
    I Feel Fine (1965)
Everybody's Trying to Be My Baby (1965)
    Baby's in Black (1965)
    I'm Down (1965)
I Wanna Be Your Man (1965)

    I bet you're right.

They could just release the shows and demonstrate that these guys were a quality live group. I think the '65 tour is of a very high standard in particular - better songs, better sound, better look. Will they though? They can't even get their $hit together to release the Let It Be film.

(wait, actually, why hasn't either of these came out? It's not like Capitol or Apple is not money-hungry - heaven FORBID that a Beatles song be heard for free on you tube!)
