Out of Print....and yet every Sunrise Records store in Ontario that I've been in has had a Mono box stuffed behind their counter for around 450 I think so at least the boxes are still out there if you scour. Saw two yesterday in two different Ontario malls.

There were plenty of chances to buy this set for years. I purchased several for around $135 shipped thanks to this forum.

Personally, I wish they would do a Tube Cut, AAA Stereo release on 180 gram vinyl of all the LPs.

They could charge $300 for that, I'd still buy it, and sell my original Parlo Tube cuts.
I believe that with a Tube cut Lacquer, you get a "bloom' that you just dont get with solid state.

I did a comparison recently of an original 1960s Shadows Tube Cut greatest hits LP, with a high priced, Audiophile Solid State Greatest Hits LP.

The 1960s LP won...hands down. It had a warm realness to it that the new LP did not have. The new LP, in fact, sounded somewhat antiseptic, even tho it had a lot of detail. It just wasnt "fun" to listen to, whereas as the 1960s Lp was.

Whether the metal parts are usable or not, why would they sink money into a repress when copies were widely available for quite awhile. And, in some cases, still are.
A few people missing out don't warrant the cost of a repress. Especially when you have similar new products on the shelves.

They copied the AAA Red and Blue albums to digital (De Agostini versions) so likely did the same for these. If they release them again they likely won't be AAA. The Please Please Me tape was already on it's last legs.

Nothing similar really, the new are digital?
The cost of a repress would be much less than the initial cost. They may even have left over covers.
But I fear you are correct in the fact that a repress is a long shot....for awhile at least. They are now concentrating on newer product.

They created a new analog master for that one, you know.

They dubbed each track one at a time to a new tape, cleaning the tape path after each song, and that's what the new LP was cut from. It was impossible to use the 1st gen tape as a cutting master.

I hope they release AAA stereo, too! The latest Red and Blue stereo releases were great IMO.

Surely they did the same with all the tapes. They have to preserve them

I'm not 100% sure, but I think I remember that part of the project was to copy all Beatles LP tapes to BOTH a 30 ips Analog tape and to Hi-Res Digital.

Probably, yes, but PPM and the Mono Masters comp were the only ones not cut directly from the 1st gen tapes.

Not if you didn’t have the money when it was first released or maybe just getting into the Beatles.

Is that even possible in that day of age? Does the equipment even exist?

Either way I’m happy with my 70’s tube cut represses, my one-box EMI Revolver is my favorite Beatles record.

I own an original copy each of the stereo and mono UK EPs as well as a German Horzu stereo pressing (which is spectacular!). The EPs, as expected, sound fresh but squashed due to mostly being two songs per side.

if you can't afford a couple of hundred dollars on LPs it's really not the best thing to get into to begin with.

Thanks for your compassion. What a rude comment!! When this was released we were buying a house something that took presedence.

    Just Wow!!!

I suspect all the original tapes were copied to new reels.

If you think Beatles LPs are high-class, luxury items made for the discerning tastes of the happy few, you're doing it wrong.
They were well made and all, but they don't offer much in the way of elitist kicks.
