Second page already and no one has complained about the name Beatles being mentioned...

    How strange...

Funny thing is, even though the Who is definitely a 60's group, I feel like they didn't really become a legendary band until 1970-71.

I consider Jimi Hendrix Experience a British band, most members are British , the band started playing in London and until his death Hendrix was more successful in England than us in the United States.

I agree with your top five, Steve. Completing a top ten would be something like this for me:

    6. Small Faces
    7. The Pretty Things
    8. Fairport Convention
    9. The Move
    10. The Zombies

It's hard not including Pentangle, The Yardbirds, The Creation, Cream and a few more I'll have forgotten, but there's only 10 places!

  16. Yes, the Woodstock film and "Live At Leeds", followed by one of the finest rock albums ever made cemented their place in music history.

I consider Badfinger 60's, so that will be my fifth.

The Stones are in the mix, along with Led Zeppelin and The Move.

Maybe John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers. Alexis Corner’s bands were hugely influential too. The Jimi Hendrix Experience would of course been in there if they counted; Them would have been close.
