Well, I happened to be in a Target for the first time in quite awhile and I came across some interesting Beatles product. They were small boxes containing a vinyl 7" single and a T-shirt. Each one was $19.99 and marked as a Target exclusive. (There was a label on the outside stating the size of the T-shirt).

    Singles I saw were:
    Let it Be
    Hello, Goodbye
    Can't Buy me Love

Although it didn't explicitly state, the box hints that the singles all use the original American picture sleeves and original labels (pic showed both label and sleeve). Outside of box stated that they were 2011 remasters and showed "1", so I guess it was pushing Beatles 1?

Have any of our Beatle freaks heard these? Reason I ask is that I have been looking for a vg+ or better "Let it Be" single for awhile and thought that this "might" satisfy my desires.

Of course, if anyone has an extra "Let it Be" single lying around.....

Just seen them myself and was wondering if they were worth picking up.
I'm not a Beatles fan myself but my wife likes them.
I do play 7"45's on occasion.

I, too, am a big fan of singles. Wish that they would make a comeback (in a big way. I know that they still exist...)

Someone purchase these and let us know if they have the mono single versions or the stereo versions! (excepting LIB, of course) :D

20 bucks seems pretty expensive or are we just paying for the shirt? Target had the exclusive Pearl jam 45 to promote 'Backspacer' and that was only 5 bucks.

Were these singles made from digital sources?

According to how the box reads, yes.

Thanks. I'm not a vinyl hound, but I suspect some folks here will view that as a catastrophe.

Thanks dave-gtr, that was a quick $85.00 I didn't expect to spend this morning. ;):D

Seriously though, thank you for the heads up.

A check of the Target website doesn't even show these listed (yet). They were released with absolutely no advance notice or advertising and I don't think most Beatles fans even know about these at the moment.

More importantly, are the T-shirts pressed from digital sources?

Does anyone have any weaveforms they can post to check the compression?

I only buy music that comes with marbles and scarves.

Of course they were. Print graphics went fully digital 20 years ago.

Those are pretty cool. Nice that they chose some of the best looking U.S. 45 sleeves ("Help!" and "Hello Goodbye") and one of the rarest of the U.S. sleeves ("Can't Buy Me Love"). Wish I didn't have to spend the extra money on the shirts.

I hope these are the first in a series.

    I have to buy these!
  16. No obi, no sale. I love the smell of cardboard! :D

David, I know the feeling. The sick part (for me) is that I will probably never open them.

:righton: Brilliant! I mean enough already with the ridiculous waveforms. You've only been on this forum since '06 and you already find that silly. Try being a member since 2002 and wading through endless waveforms, to prove nothing that my own two ears couldn't hear for themselves.

Those are cool, but a bit pricey at this point--in the old days I would have snapped them right up. Why didn't they use a time-period appropriate shirt in Hello Goodbye like they did for the others? Strange.

Here's a photo of the label for "Can't Buy Me Love". Pretty nice. Kinda weird seeing SONY/ATV on the label..

The jacket is a stiff cardboard stock, and the record is pressed very nicely. Sounds very good and is in mono.

Apple finally figured out the one modern collectible that I'll actually buy.
    Well done.

Now, about that Can't Buy Me Love sleeve, is Paul holding the cigarette? Or did they airbrush it out as they did on the 1984 re-issue of I Want To Hold Your Hand 45?

These look really nice. Thanks for heads up.

No, the cigarette is there on all its' glory!

    A few more details:

    • I Am The Walrus is the original US single version, with the extra beats.
    • All the tracks are mono, except Let It Be.
    • Let It Be is the single version
    • Help is the correct mono version with alternate vocals
    • All sleeves have the correct front and back with the song titles reversed.
    • Vinyl is beautiful and clean on all of them
    • Punchy, mono sound like we remember it, but with better fidelity than the original singles
    • Tiny catalog numbers printed on one side (lower corner) of each sleeve on one side
    • Various printing differences on the lables throughout
    Glad I got 'em!

Wow. I am almost depressed that I care about this. Sounds like a good deal!
If they issue Paperback Writer I will drop what I'm doing to get a copy.

I see the 45 label says side one and side two.

Yes - just that one. The others don't have it.
