That's because the way EMI/Apple is being run right now, if this set is to be re-re-re-re-relased on 180- or 200-gram vinyl, they'll very likely f**k it up by using the 1987 digital tapes, not the original analogue masters, in preparing it.

My first wife bought me the Beatles box set for a wedding present in '83.

    God bless 'er... :)

Could you tell when you purchased the boxset? I mean you bought it in the last 2-3 years?

The major problem regarding purchasing these boxsets in Brazil are:

1- Difficulty to find around here
2- If you import from a seller it would be wise to insure the package, but doing that you'll pay some 60-100% tax over the declared price (60% if you choose regular air mail, 100% if choose an express courier, e.g., FedEx, DHL). Kind of of catch 22, send at a low declared price you run the risk of never getting the package, pay insurance and you may twice the actual price.

The above mentioned problems are hard to solve, but not impossible, therefore I'd like to ask if I had to buy one Beatles vinyl boxset which one should be the best choice?

    Regards,
    Helio
