I'm not a fan of the altar effect. Makes me uncomfortable.

It started out as software, but quickly turned to hardware.

For me the rooms go from "very cool, but not something I would do", to "I WANT!!!!" Living in relatively small Manhattan apartments for so many years makes me appreciate large and fairly sparse rooms. I think the real challenge is acoustically treating the room and making it look good. There are some very creative room treatments here.

Looks like a Vermeer painting or the room Michelangelo would have if he were into hi-fi.

  23. This works for me. But again need more music (maybe out of frame), and not just digital files.

Wow awesome thread! Love every picture. I really don't get those that "hate" anything in these pics, they're cool.

I don't have the means to do anything like many of these photo's but I don't care. It's cool to see. I work in the upper 1% communities in Florida and am often impressed and dazzled by what money can do. But it hasn't made me jealous or covet at all. When I'm in a 40,000 square foot home with a two mile long drive way made of solid slabs of granite I'm not thinking it's unfair and I should have this... I'm usually thinking about what I'll eat for diner and what record I'll put on.

I love this one, but mostly for the shelves and the Tannoys.

Earlier on in this thread, there was a photo of a room _full_ of Audio Note equipment that also made me (partially) envious; I wouldn't have that much equipment, but I'd certainly like some of it.
