I always say things like "this would be on my Top 10 Robin list" or "if I ever make a list, this would most likely be on it." So. I actually decided to sit down and make my Top 10 Favorite Robin Vocals list!

This was not easy. It will always be subject to change. But after careful consideration, these are my Top 10 Favorite* Robin Vocals on Bee Gees Songs:

    10. "Heart Like Mine," Size Isn't Everything, 1993
    9. "Really and Sincerely," Horizontal, 1968
    8. "I Will," Still Waters, 1997
    7. "I Started a Joke," Idea, 1968
    6. "The Longest Night," E.S.P., 1987
    5. "My World," 1972
    4. "Don't Fall In Love With Me," Living Eyes, 1981
    3. "Alone," Still Waters, 1997
    2. "And the Sun Will Shine," Horizontal, 1968
    1. "For Whom the Bell Tolls," Size Isn't Everything, 1993

*Favorite does not always equal best, though I'm pretty sure little would change if I opted to say best!

There are quite a few near misses, songs that are hovering right below #10. Included in that list are "Country Lanes," "Rings Around the Moon," "Mr. Natural" and "I Can't See Nobody." It would not be hard to expand this list to Top 25!

I'd love to see if anyone else has lists of any kind! They are fun to make, even when it's hard to narrow down!

It was hard for me to just limit to 20 lol for Robin. I left off quite a few (many of which you included on your lists). :agree:

Maurice was slightly easier only because he just didn't sing lead on a lot of albums. I could have probably gone to 15 easily.

For Barry, the earlier the vocals, the more I am to likely to enjoy them. Barry has an amazing voice. One of the best in music. I just like his later vocals a little less than his earlier vocals. Just a preference thing I guess.

My favorite, not on your list at all, is The Bridge. I think it’s only on Mythology so maybe some are not familiar with it. Walking On Air would be my second. Unfortunately, he seemed to be given more throw away tracks from the mid 70’s forward, so it’s hard for me to make much of a list. Very impressive that others here have no problem with coming up with one. And no, I don’t dislike him at all...he seemed to be the nicest and most down to earth (And also appreciative and normal) of the three, but I just always knew any song he did a solo on wasn’t exactly going to be hit material. The Bridge he produced alone, and I wish he had done more.

The Bridge is absolutely GORGEOUS, and the fact that it's sung with his kids makes it even more touching. Makes me tear up when I listen to it sometimes. :mudscrying:

I didn't include it on my list, though the thought did cross my mind, because I consider the track a solo track rather than a Bee Gees track. Otherwise, I would have included Railroad, Hold Her In Your Hand, and a few others on my list lol. :agree:

Yeah, it is easy for me to make a Robin list (well, easy to pull out notable Robin songs, not so much to narrow down the list!) because his songs stand out to me so much. I like Maurice's songs, but they don't get nearly as many listens and fall more into the category of "yay, a Maurice song!". As for Barry, there are some specific vocals that I really like but I find I think of Barry's songs less as a chance for him to shine individually as I do for Robin, perhaps because he sings so much more.

Well, technically speaking, there are a number of songs on your list that didn't feature his brothers but were still credited as Bee Gees tracks so...

    Details, details.....lol. :nyah:

But you're right, and I totally agree. Maurice's tracks were a little more complicated to pick because of that. That's why I tried to stick with tracks that were technically under the Bee Gees banner. :agree:

I mean, I only stuck to Bee Gees songs so as to not have consider all the solo stuff as well. Though, generally speaking, there aren't Robin solo songs that would crack the Top 25 over Bee Gees tracks anyway.

By all accounts "The Bridge" would have been included as the b-side for the follow-up single to "This Is Where I Came In" before UMG and Bee Gees ulitmately decided to round things off and move ahead with "The Record".
